Award for XYZ highlights ongoing contribution to UK manufacturing efficiency

XYZ Machine Tools Ltd's commitment to the UK's manufacturing sector has been acknowledged with the presentation during MACH 2012 of the prestigious MWP advanced manufacturing Award 2012 for the Best Entry Level Machine Installation.
In achieving its position as the UK's largest supplier of computer numerically controlled machine tools into the UK market, XYZ Machine Tools Ltd has established an enviable reputation for quality, reliability and value for money. It has also played a major role in helping smaller companies in particular to upgrade their production capabilities in an affordable and sustainable way, an achievement highlighted by the presentation during MACH 2012 of the MWP advanced manufacturing 2012 Award for the Best Entry Level Machine Installation.
The Award relates to an XYZ LPM (Lean Production Machine) supplied to Spa Aluminium Ltd, a Tunbridge Wells, Kent-based supplier of bespoke aluminium profiles in a wide variety of finishes and now, in addition, of precision machined components. This stockholder/fabrication company had no previous experience of CNC machining but, with expert training and applications advice and support provided by XYZ, Spa Aluminium is now supplying components to various customers and, crucially, to the high-end architectural market.
XYZ was also shortlisted in this Award category in respect of subcontractor Bartlett Engineering Co of Tenby, Pembrokeshire. The switch to CNC machining has made it possible for this small business to not only economically produce large production runs but also to be cost-efficient on smaller production runs and one-offs.
